The Crown Season 2 (2 POSTS IN 1!?!?!?)

Hi! Sorry this post is late... I'm sure you all have been waiting (that's what I like to tell myself) :) So I'm going to be combining two posts in one since I didn't post last week but I still watched half a season each week. Meaning I'm going to be reviewing all of Season 2. Ready? Ok, so, this season had a LOT of characters and it was definitely a bit difficult to keep track of all of them. The Crown does a pretty good job in my opinion of bringing together aspects of royal life and the history of the British Crown as well as British politics of the day (since they are so intertwined) but that means you're juggling a lot at once. This season also goes over a lot of the international conflicts and relationships Great Britain had, both with other pro-US powers in the Cold War and the process of decolonization occurring in broad swaths of Asia and Africa.  Something I didn't know that much about was the tension between Elizabeth and Philip's marriage and...

Week 2 :)

I finished Season 1 this week! Election Day was great - I spent my morning in bed watching episodes of The Crown before the polls started rolling in and I went downhill. Anyways... I actually loved the second half of Season 1. Vibes are definitely immaculate and the plot is definitely getting more complex. Central to these episodes is the relationship between Queen Elizabeth's sister, Margaret, and the man that she's in love with, Peter Townsend. Also, you may have noticed, I call her Queen Elizabeth - she does get coronated during this season which was fun to watch. Ok, so the real reason why I got a lot more invested is that there's increasingly more portrayal of the politics side of Briti...

Week 1: Overrated!?!?

Heya, so I watched around half of the first season this week (4 episodes) and I'm not going to lie, this is not my favorite show so far. Here's a bit of a synopsis of what I've watched so far (I don't know if this qualifies as spoilers but spoiler alert ig if you plan on watching this): - Princess *not Queen yet* Elizabeth and Prince Phillip get married... her family isn't too happy about this but they have a nice wedding. Her dad's health is declining. Winston Churchill shows up to her wedding and everyone is clearly more occupied with politics since Churchill is really salty he didn't win the reelection. - Churchill gets reelected and King Edward has lung cancer but doesn't tell his family. His health is very much declining though and eventually, he dies :( - Elizabeth and Phillip travel all over the Commonwealth to set themselves up to take their place. More about this later. - There's a lot of tension between Elizabeth and Phillip about power an...
